Frequently Asked Questions

Should I clean my furnace and air conditioner every year?

Yes! Most warranties require proper maintenance of your furnace and air conditioner, and become void if they are not maintained. Cleaning them will give you more years of use, and lessen repairs and replacement of parts.

How long does an air conditioner or furnace last?

Older air conditioners can last up to 12 years, while newer ones last up to 20 years. Furnaces made before 1980 typically last 10-15 years, but newer models come with lifetime warranties. Again, this is as long as maintenance is done.

My furnace is not working, what can I do (prior to calling)?

We do not want to charge for services you don't need, so before you call:

1. Make sure electrical switch on furnace is turned on.

2. Make sure your breaker is on or main fuse is in good condition.

3. Make sure Air- Filter is clean.

4. Make sure thermostat is set to either heat or cool. Cool if Air-conditioning and HEAT if heater.

What air conditioner maintenance can I do myself?

1. Check the air filter or coil in your system until every three to four weeks. A dirty filter will strain your system.

2. Keep your outdoor unit free of debris.

3. Ensure that your unit is on level ground.

All other maintenance and repairs should be performed by a technician.
